🇵🇱 Save 50% on Cigarettes in Poland (3 hours round trip)

Germany might not be the most expensive country for smokers—but Poland is definitely cheaper. You can save roughly 50% by buying there instead of in Berlin. And from Berlin, Poland is close: Here I will tell you how to get there in a 3-hour round trip!

We will travel by train to Frankfurt/Oder and then by bus to Słubice, Poland. This trip is free if you already have the Deutschland Ticket, which I strongly recommend getting.

Right after the border, you will find numerous shops selling cigarettes. Choose any you like; the shops differ more by variety than by price.

At the shops, you can also pay in euros (the Polish currency is still złoty). The shops adjust their prices daily based on the exchange rate and display them on LED panels outside, similar to how gas stations display fuel prices.

How Much Can I Bring?

By law, one person is allowed to carry 800 cigarettes when crossing an internal EU border. This is equivalent to 4 cartons of cigarettes (each carton containing 10 packs).

Carry Your ID / Passport

Although Poland is part of the Schengen Area, where regular border checks are not conducted, occasional checks may still occur. It is advisable to carry your ID card or passport to avoid any inconvenience.
